What we hear from clinic owners

And what we do about each one.

“We are not allowed to mention Botox, so how do we market it?”

Botox is a prescription-only medicine, and CAP Code rule 12.12 bans advertising it to the public, including on your website. We build pages around a consultation for the concern, such as lines and wrinkles, so you can still be found, with the medicine discussed only after an assessment.

“Are our before-and-after photos a problem?”

For prescription-only treatments the ASA is likely to see them as promoting the medicine, so they should not be used. For other treatments they need to be genuine, unedited and typical of the results most patients get. We help you decide what to keep.

“Patients compare us on price and book elsewhere.”

Pages that show who will treat them, their qualifications, what happens on the day, aftercare and realistic results. People choosing a treatment for their face or body want reassurance first, then a price.

“We get enquiries from people who are not suitable.”

Treatment pages that set expectations up front: who it suits and who it does not, number of sessions, downtime and risks. Consultation forms ask the right questions, including confirming the patient is 18 or over.

“Our promotions keep getting us into trouble.”

The ASA has ruled against cosmetic clinics for time-limited deals that pressure people into booking, including a Black Friday sale in April 2025. We help you present offers in a way that does not rush anyone.

“All our marketing lives on Instagram.”

Social media is useful, but you do not own it and any reference to a prescription medicine there, even a hashtag, is likely to break the rules. A website gives you a permanent, searchable home you control.

What you get

Built into every clinic site

Treatment pages that answer real questions

What it is, who it suits, how many sessions, downtime, risks, aftercare and price. Each page has its own FAQs, marked up so Google and AI tools can use them.

Consultation-first booking

Patients book an assessment, not a product. That keeps you within the rules and brings in better-qualified enquiries.

Practitioner profiles

Qualifications, professional registration and experience, shown clearly. Regulators expect you to be open about who does what, and patients look for it.

Copy checked against current ASA guidance

No prescription medicine names on the homepage or in headlines, no “painless” or “permanent” claims without evidence, nothing aimed at under-18s.

CQC rating displayed properly

If you are CQC registered and rated, we add CQC’s own rating widget so it is shown clearly on every page that needs it.

Calm, fast, accessible design

Easy to read, quick on a phone, and clear for older patients and anyone using a screen reader.

Getting it right

The rules your clinic website has to follow

This is the area where most clinic websites get into trouble. We write every page with these in mind. It is a summary, not legal advice.

Prescription-only medicines

CAP Code rule 12.12 bans advertising prescription-only medicines such as botulinum toxin to the public. ASA guidance (updated October 2025) says the medicine should not be named on your homepage, in headlines or in ads. You can promote a consultation, and a price list can include it without product claims.

Under-18s

Since 25 May 2022, ads for cosmetic interventions must not be aimed at under-18s, or appear in media where under-18s make up more than a quarter of the audience. Botulinum toxin and fillers for cosmetic purposes have been illegal for under-18s in England since October 2021.

No pressure to book

The ASA has ruled that time-limited cosmetic deals can push people into decisions they have not thought through, breaking the social responsibility rule. The GMC also tells doctors not to use promotional tactics that encourage ill-considered decisions.

Laser and IPL claims

“Permanent” and “painless” need robust clinical evidence, and the ASA has upheld complaints against both. Say whether a treatment is laser or IPL, and do not imply the same results for every skin and hair type.

CQC ratings

If your service is CQC registered and has been rated, regulation 20A says your website must show your latest rating clearly, with the date and where to find the full report.

Licensing is coming

The government confirmed in August 2025 that it will bring in licensing for non-surgical cosmetic procedures in England. At the time of writing it is not yet in force. We build your site so it is easy to show a licence when it arrives.

Pricing

A fixed price before we start.

FAQ

Questions we get asked.

Something else on your mind? Ask us and we will reply within one working day.

Can my clinic website mention Botox?

Not to promote it. Botox is a prescription-only medicine and CAP Code rule 12.12 bans advertising it to the public. ASA guidance says you can promote a consultation for the concern, and a price list can include the medicine without product claims, but it should not be named on your homepage, in headlines or in ads.

Can I use before-and-after photos?

For prescription-only treatments, the ASA is likely to treat them as promoting the medicine, so avoid them. For other treatments, they should be genuine, unedited, typical of the results most patients get, and used with the patient’s consent.

Do I have to show my CQC rating on my website?

If your service is registered with CQC and has been rated, yes. Regulation 20A requires your latest rating to be shown clearly on your website, with the date and where the full report can be found. CQC provides a free widget that does this.

Who writes the treatment pages?

We do. We draft each page in plain English from the information you give us, and you check it for clinical accuracy before it goes live. You are the expert on the treatments. Our job is to explain them clearly and keep them within the rules.

Can patients book online?

Yes. We can build a consultation request form, or link to the booking system you already use. Either way, patients book an assessment rather than a specific product.

Can you guarantee my site is compliant?

No website designer can honestly guarantee that. We write to current ASA and CAP guidance and flag anything risky. The final responsibility sits with the clinic, and CAP offers a free Copy Advice service if you want a second opinion on specific wording.

How much does a clinic website cost?

Our Starter site (up to 8 pages) starts from £799 and our Growth site (up to 15 pages) from £1,499. Both are fixed-price quotes with hosting included, and you own the site.
