Websites for builders, plumbers, electricians and trades

Win the job from Google, not from a lead site.

Websites for builders, plumbers, electricians, heating engineers and roofers. Built for the person searching with a job in mind, whether it is a leak today or an extension next spring: who you are, where you work, what you have built, and a quick way to get a quote.

What we hear from builders and trades

And what we do about each one.

“I am paying for leads that four other trades also get.”

Lead sites often sell the same job to several businesses, so you are racing to call first. Enquiries from your own website and Google profile come to you alone. Keep a directory listing for reviews if it helps, but stop relying on it.

“I am on a job all day and miss calls.”

A tap-to-call button on every page, plus a short quote form that asks for postcode, job type and how urgent it is. The job waits for you, instead of going to the next number on the list.

“We do not show up outside our own town.”

A proper page for each main service and the areas you cover, each with something useful to say. Not a list of copied pages with the town name swapped, which Google ignores.

“Customers ring round for prices and waste my time.”

Guide prices or typical ranges for your common jobs. It puts off tyre-kickers and gives serious customers the confidence to get in touch. You decide how much to show.

“My reviews are spread across three different sites.”

We bring them together: links to every platform you are on, so customers can read them in the original place, and a simple way to ask every customer for a review when the job is done.

“Our best work is on my phone, not online.”

A page for each of your best jobs: extensions, loft conversions, kitchens, roofs. Before, during and after photos, what the brief was and how long it took. For bigger jobs, this is what wins the quote.

“Half the quotes we do go nowhere.”

A quote form that asks the right things up front: type of work, rough budget, when they want to start and whether plans are drawn. You spend your evenings pricing jobs that are likely to go ahead.

What you get

Built into every trades site

Tap-to-call on every page

A call button that stays on screen on phones, plus WhatsApp if you use it. The quickest route from search to a booked job.

A quote form that qualifies the job

Postcode, job type, urgency and a short description. You know what you are walking into before you ring back.

Service and area pages

One for each main service and the towns you actually cover, so you can be found for “boiler repair Accrington” as well as your own town.

Accreditations shown properly

FMB, TrustMark, Gas Safe, NICEIC, NAPIT or your trade body, with your registration number so customers can check it. Only what you hold, kept up to date.

Project pages that win bigger jobs

Your best work with before and after photos, the brief and the timescale. Structured data tells Google and AI tools exactly what you build and where.

Google Business Profile set up

Set up as a service-area business, with your areas listed and your home address hidden if you work from home.

Straight talking

No trades case study yet. Here is what we would do instead.

We would rather be straight with you than fill this space with logos. Every trades site we build starts with the same test: can someone on a phone tell in five seconds what you do, where, and how to get hold of you? Here is the difference that makes.

Getting it right

Things that trip trades up

Easy to get wrong, and some of them carry real penalties. We build them in as standard.

Trust marks and logos

UK consumer law bans displaying a trust mark or membership logo you are not authorised to use. That includes keeping it on your site after membership lapses. Gas Safe needs particular care: only registered engineers can legally carry out gas work.

Reviews

Since April 2025, fake reviews, and reviews you have paid or rewarded people for without saying so, are banned under the same law. Ask every happy customer, but never buy reviews or post them for friends.

Planning questions

Customers often ask if they need planning permission. Answer in general terms and link to the government’s Planning Portal, but never promise a job will not need permission or Building Regulations approval. That depends on the property.

Your home address

If customers do not come to you, Google says to remove your address from your Business Profile and set service areas instead. You can list up to 20, within about two hours’ drive of your base.

Business details

If you trade as a limited company, your website must show your registered company name, number and registered office. Sole traders using a business name must show their own name and a contact address.

FAQ

Questions we get asked.

Something else on your mind? Ask us and we will reply within one working day.

How much does a website for a tradesperson cost?

Our Starter site (up to 8 pages) starts from £799 and our Growth site (up to 15 pages) from £1,499. Both are fixed-price quotes with hosting included. You own the site, the domain and the content, and there is no contract.

Do I still need Checkatrade or other lead sites?

That is up to you. Many trades keep a directory listing because customers trust the reviews. A good website and Google profile mean you are not relying on it, and the enquiries they bring are not shared with competitors.

Will a website get me on Google Maps?

Maps results come mainly from your Google Business Profile, ranked on relevance, distance and prominence. Your website supports that, and we set up your profile properly as part of the build, but nobody can honestly guarantee a position.

Should I have a page for every town I cover?

Only for the main areas, and only if each page says something useful, such as the jobs you do there and how quickly you can get out. Dozens of near-identical town pages do more harm than good.

Do I have to show my home address?

No. If customers do not visit you, Google says to remove your address from your Business Profile and list the areas you serve instead. If you trade as a limited company, your registered office address still needs to appear on your website, and that can be an accountant’s or a formation agent’s address.

Can I show trade body logos like FMB, Gas Safe or NICEIC?

Yes, as long as your membership or registration is current. UK law bans showing trust marks you are not entitled to use. We show your registration number next to the logo so customers can check it, and you should tell us if anything lapses.

Can I show past projects without giving away customers’ addresses?

Yes, and you should. Ask the customer before posting photos of their home, leave out house numbers and anything that shows the exact address, and describe the area rather than the street.

How quickly can I be live?

Most trades sites are live within two to three weeks once we have your services, areas and a few photos of your work.

Tell us about your business. We will tell you what it needs.

A free 30-minute call, then a fixed price in writing. If a website is not the right next step for you, we will say so.
